Ingredients
1 lb medium sliced Ham
3 hard boiled eggs
12 Dates
Nutmeg
Cinnamon
2 teaspoons Currants
12 Button Mushrooms chopped
Parsley
1 teaspoon Castor Sugar
6 Gooseberries
1/2 pint Cider
Pastry
6 teaspoons SR Flour
3 oz Butter
Salt
Water
Method
For the pastry: work fat into flour, add salt and make into a thick dough with cold water. Keep cool till needed.
For the pye: Mix eggs et al (except ham, egg whites, cider and butter). Cut ham into 4 inch long slices and fill each slice with mixture. Roll up these 'olives' and put close together in a pie dish. Pour over cider, egg whites and dot with butter. Cover with pastry. Bake 40 minutes in moderate oven.
