Fine dining with great views of the Swan River. An extensive vintage wine list complements the modern French based cuisine. This is a special occasion place with professional service and an excellent quality setting - vast crystal glasses, damask table cloths and a long stemmed red rose for the ladies. The room is far more upmarket than the first floor of the Hyatt Centre from which one enters.

Paul Eats Perth 06 "Setting Friends is located a little obscurely in the confines of the Hyatt Hotel in East Perth. The building sits just behind the Langely Park ovals and, from the first floor, has a good view across the water to South Perth."

Sunday Times, food&wine, eating out, gail williams, 16/2/03, Score 4 stars. New chef Stuart Bell took over from Gwenael Lesle, and has set about creating a menu consisting of sensationally cooked modern food. The partially boned quail was superb.
