Mietta's Review
Nick's is not new. It's an old-style trattoria with traditional Italian food served by friendly staff. The antipasto and some cold dishes (in summer) are usually on display. No fancy presentation, just fresh and substantial food. As well as its busy lunches there are often functions held upstairs at night.
The day starts briskly here with breakfast from 7.30am. Good value bacon and eggs served quickly makes Nick's popular amongst the office workers nearby. The place retains a real "Little Italy" feel with straw-wrapped wine bottles hanging, big jars of giardiniera and olives, tins of oil and the sound of ladies cooking in the kitchen. The original Nick is gone. He was regarded as a great "barista" which does not mean that you can get him to defend you, but that he makes great coffee. One of the Fazzolari family still makes sure the coffee is good.
