Mietta's Review
Smart casual describes Georges. Footpath tables and umbrellas give way to wooden floorboards and paper covered tables attended by black and white clad waiters. The open kitchen sends out Italian style dishes from breakfast until evening, to a city crowd. They do dinner on Friday only. Altogether this is a good professional operation.

The Adelaide Food Guide 2010 Score: * "Throw together top-notch Italian fare, a superb wine list, attentive service and a convivial atmosphere and you have all the ingredients for a buzzing inner-city eatery"
Adelaide Advertiser Tony Love, 17-12-2008 Score: 17.5/20 "Stylish and well-set-out tables, with high attention to table and service details married to high-end kitchen creativity which sees a well-credentialled chef bridging traditional Italian with contemporary fine dining. Buzzing as a great CBD lunch venue."
Gourmet Traveller 2007 Australian Restaurant Guide "Georges opens early for brekkie business meetings, but it's in the middle of the day that things really hum. Big bosses clinching deals sit comfortably alongside office birthday celebrations in an establishment that sets an ideal lunch pace - quick, but never rushed."
Adelaide Advertiser 2006 "Georges has been a popular CBD lunch spot for years and with new developments on Waymouth and King William streets, it is likely to get even busier. There's an infectious buzz about the place from breakfast through to mid-afternoon."
Gourmet Traveller 2006 Australian Restaurant Guide "Popular with the CBD lunch crowd, George's has an appealing buzz from breakfast through to mid-afternoon. The simple, well-crafted Italian fare is served at reasonable prices, changes seasonally"
Gourmet Traveller 2005 Australian Restaurant Guide "This Italian-focused, bistro-styled eatery is all the buzz among smart young business lunchers, with old wooded floors, linen and white paper-topped tables, good glassware and crusty bread."
Sunday Mail 24/4/05 "George's on Waymouth (Street, that is) is a place to be seen, to network, to sip coffee and dine with the in-crowd . . . if you can afford it. It is cafe casual - it won the Restaurant and Catering SA award for excellence in the informal category - though the daytime crowd certainly has a mix of power suits and it has full table service."
Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Guide Australia 2004,'is decorated without pretension, with bare floors and cafe chairs but well-dressed napery-draped tables. A mezzanine floor towards the rear is favoured by business clientele;everyone else seems happy to eat by the big windows...first-rate trattoria dishes...wine offerings are good'
The Advertiser, Food & Wine, 23/4/03, Tony Baker,'the menu...manages to be both mainstream and uncommon'
