Mietta's Review
This restaurant is in the original kiosk and tea rooms in the centre of the stunning Adelaide Botanic Gardens. Worth the trip for the surroundings alone, although the food really consolidates the experience. Dishes are offered as part of a set menu, either two or three course. Wine and beer are available, and it is best to buy at the restaurant as corkage for BYO is a rather steep $15 per bottle.

The Advertiser Tony Love, March 2010 Score: The food: 13/20, The staff: 5/10, The drink: 3/5, The X factor: 3/5, The value: 6/10, Total 30/50 "Up the garden path. Tony Love reports. A LEISURELY stroll in that little paradise we know as the Adelaide Botanic Gardens does wonders for the heart and soul. Mid-summer, midday, perfect sunshine, perfect shade. As you pass through all that greenery, all that freshly filtered city air and lush earthy aromas of fallen fig leaf matter, another joy emerges, one that has fallen off our walking-out, dining-out radar. The Botanic Garden kiosk restaurant appears from the outside as it has done for years, oozing an eternal charm"
The Adelaide Food Guide 2010 "There's a new direction at Adelaide's Botanic Gardens Restaurant now under the guidance of catering mogul Steve Blanco (Blanco Catering) and hospitality veteran Christopher Homer (formerly of Magffl Estate)"
Adelaide Advertiser 2006 "Smack in the middle of the Botanic Garden is one of those Adelaide institutions we tend to forget is there. The Botanic Garden Restaurant has been serving lunch and catering for functions for decades with chef John Woods turning over seasonal menus with influences from Asia and the Mediterranean."
Gourmet Traveller 2005 Australian Restaurant Guide "There's something magical about stepping into the Adelaide Botanic Gardens: so close to the city yet like entering a forest. The sense of unreality is heightened by the restaurant at its centre, which looks like a 19th-century conservatory."
The Advertiser 25/5/05 Tony Baker "The restaurant and kiosk are a special children's case, being traffic-free in the heart of the garden and with the opportunity to feed the fauna on the pond."
